Hello, I’m interested in the virtual grogmeet but wanted to check a few details first if that’s ok. When are the sessions exactly? Are there set times or is there flexibility? I have a young family which would make evenings after bedtime best for me. D’you think this can work in my circumstances? Also how long is a typical session? And is there a minimum number of sessions you can sign up to?
Many thanks
Brendan
Hi Brendan – if you follow the link to the form, it will give you the information you need. If you want an alternative slot, you can indicate it in the form. Hope that this helps. Dirk
Thanks Dirk much appreciated, hadn’t clicked the link as thought it was just for the DMs. I look forward to signing up for some evening sessions.
BTW I love the artwork above. It looks familiar but not sure why… a nod to something over my head I suspect! What does it symbolise?

Thanks – it’s Cugel The Clever from Jack Vance’s Eyes of the Overworld. Look out for more characters from our Bookclub readings soon!

Hi Dirk, hoping to make it this year but, for us really clueless folks, where is the ‘link to the form’ to sign up for Virtual Grogmeet?
I am interested in partaking in some virtual gamery also. I am a Grognard at heart but have only just started rolling dice in person for over a year now, and never online, and only DnD 5e. I love the podcast and want to experience something slightly more classic.
May I ask a few questions?
1) What platform will these online games be played on? I would hate to sign up and let people down due to not having the correct running specs for any programme.
2) Will my lack of experience as a role player be to mine or anyone else’s detriment?
3) Do we need to know the rules well for the games we are interested in playing in? Happy to knuckle down and learn whatever game (if any) I get accepted for.
4) if this goes well, very looking forward to in person Grogmeet. I have been a Patron for a few months and have still to get to the episode where Dirk has rolled something for me.
Many thanks all involved.
Dan
Sorry for the delay responding to this. I can see that you have managed to sign-up for at least one game and that we will be playing together!
1. Each GM will let you know which platform you will be using. It is usually a Virtual Table Top (for maps, tokens, rolling dice, sharing character sheets etc) and video conferencing software. Some GMs may just use video-conferencing. You won’t need any special software, these are browser based applications.
2. Lack of experience is not an issue. Many people have started online role-playing thanks to virtual GROGMEET. It has launched dozens of gaming groups.
3. The GM will usually contact you with the arrangements, however they will assume that you DON’T know the system and will help you through it. System mastery not needed.
4. Thanks for you support! Look forward to meeting you at GROGMEET.
Hi Dirk, more in formation never came so I missed that Grogmeet. Do you know where the information for the January grogmeet might be hidden? Thank you.

Hi – sorry I missed your initial comment. We are at capacity at the moment, but when the dust settles there may be some more space. Okay to put you on the wait list? I’ll update at the weekend.

Keen to sign up and join in as a noob to give this a try online, and if it goes well, in person next year! Not quite sure how I register, but I understand there’s a Discord server, so that would be a good start if I can get an invite?
Hey there! Was interested in coming along to something at the January Grogmeet but can’t see any for general sale yet. Is that because it’s sold out to patrons?
Hi folks and fellow, err, traditionalists that started TTRPGing a while ago. 😉 I am on Warhorn, but some games have no waitlists, despite Real Life likely interfering in the full participation. Do y’all have a Discord or the like?

Dirk, thank you very much. I will at the very least give Knave a look over as not to hold up the proceeding. Looking forward to it. See you then.
Hi Dirk, where’s the sign up sheet for this? Or is it full now?
Andrew.
Hi – I’ve not opened it yet. More information coming in June. Dirk

Hi, I would like to attend this Saturday’s gaming event, if possible? 🖖Thank you kindly 🙂
Hi Christine
There’s a handful of spots still available. If you contact me on dirk the dice (all one word) at gmail dot com I’ll send you the Warhorn link.
Thanks
Dirk
Virtual Grogmeet! Wahoo!
