  1. Thanks Dale. Good to know that people are enjoying the episodes featuring games they haven’t played. Our podcast is so long, your dog has probably never been fitter!

  2. I love what you guys started talking about around 1hr:18mins. Similar to your story, Stormbringer was the game that taught me to immerse in my character as well. In D&D i had always played a generic dwarf, or halfling, or Barbarian etc, with no real defining development other than having exceptional abilities. My first character was a toothless beggar missing 4 fingers from his left hand. But i went all out with him! I made him into this wild eyed zealot that went around preaching against the evils of Chaos & the pleasures of the flesh, using his fingerless hand as a sermon prop. He was so much fun! Somehow in the course of play he came under servitude to a Melnibonean noble, who as some dark joke saw to equip my beggar with a demon glove to replace his crippled hand. It ruined my character! All of a sudden he was awkwardly powerful, but was also tainted, and unfit to continue his mad crusade against Chaos. However, he did have the last laugh. His Melnibonean master fatally underestimated the resolve of his pet beggar slave. My beggar assassinated his master & then killed himself to be rid of his demon! I learned a big lesson that day! Roleplaying trumps roll-playing everytime! Thank You Stormbringer! 🙂

    1. Hi

Hope you liked the 1hr 18mins before too!

The rules do encourage you to role-play using the hand you’re dealt.

That’s a great story. Thanks for sharing it!

  3. Just working my way the podcast backlog… great stuff. Wanted to point out that heavy metal hasn’t stopped making songs about fantasy settings, check out Blind Guardian for a start!

  4. Thank you for this episode, I really enjoyed it. I’m glad some people like The Madcap Laughs. I agree with the comments about the structure in part 3. An epic ending was the brief from the editors.

  5. So glad I finally got around to listening to this, very informative for my Stormbringer Redux project.
