Another nice and enjoyable episode, the chat with Mr Davis was interesting and it would have been great to expand even more on his varied creations. Like many others I learnt far more about history from the GURPS books (or from inspiration from them) then in my school history lessons, I think I had about 30 to 40 of them (long since sold for shelf and loft space).

The phenomena about playing the latest game is recognised and often referred to as “the cult of the new” on sites like BoardGameGeek, I have continually resisted buying “new” games as my attraction to the OSR cannot heed distractions, but it is hard, I did consider the Blades In The Dark PDF the other day when it was on offer, but I can’t see myself getting into it, at the moment I am just overwhelmed with the Basic D&D variations on offer.

Pub podcasts are great, the background noise is not an issue and the “oil” makes the conversation more enjoyable!

    1. Dirk says:

Not only the new, everything that has gone before. I think Blythy’s right, you need to apply some rules.

    Is there a Part 1?

Might be a silly question but I’m not used to this medium and I’ve not been able to find it.
