I’m not at all sure what my third game would be. Hmm.
My first game was DnD because it was 1976 and that wasn’t anything else. Not yet, not in the UK.
My second game is the hard one. I bought SUPERHERO 2044 but that didn’t last beyond a few taster sessions. I owned EN GARDE and I didn’t find the way to play that until I was into my big postal games period in the mid to late 80s. And that was where I found the chance to play DRAGONQUEST. The Realm of Tarkas Bulba? Was that the name of it? The campaign was hugely detailed and looked fun but my late twenties brain found the rules just as hard to penetrate as Blithy in his 50s. I didn’t stick with it.
I think my second game that I actually liked enough to run was TRAVELLER.
And my third game must be RUNEQUEST which I chucked out DnD for and ran it obsessive and exclusively until I burned out.
